After that process was easy and effective. Purchased ADVC110 to transfer Hi8 tapes to DVD via an iMac/iMovie. Initially sound didn't transfer using an S-Video cable, but was able to get both video and sound using a firewire connection.
Canoplus matches very well with the qualiy of the imac. no loss of image or sound quality when I converted my old (as from 22 years old) sony video 8 analog tapes to the computer.
After all it took.now I am busy copying my videos I had to special order a fire card from Dell as a generic fire device did not work. The product was delivered as advertised. The only problem is that I have to unplug the device to reboot it to work properly.
awesome vendor. The converter was packed well and shipped VERY fast. Thanks so much. I want to thank this vendor for their help in finding the right converter. They were extremely patient and helpful and I would definitely do business with them again.
Also very rugged -- I dropped my video camera on the unit by accident and although it marked the case it continues to work. This is a great little machine and does the job with no problems. Hooked up my old video camera to it and plugged the firewire into my vista computer. One small issue is that my camera puts out mono audio and the Canopus has L and R sterio inputs so I had to purchase a splitter in order to get sound on both cannnels. Hightly recommended. Reconized it right away and begin capturing immediately. Picture quality and sound very good.
